The platen roller works hand-in-hand with the printhead, providing the even pressure needed for consistent, high-quality print. As it wears, it can cause the same symptoms as a failing printhead – patchy print, poor ribbon control and reduced label quality – so it's easy to mistake one problem for the other. For best results, we recommend replacing the platen roller at the same time as the printhead. Genuine platen rollers are available from ALS – if you're not sure of the part number, just contact our technical support team and they'll advise the correct item code and price for your printer.
